SOUTHERN ILLINOIS – You’ll want to keep your eyes on the sky and stay tuned as the National Weather Service is monitoring a pair of fronts that will be coming through the area.

Forecasters say there’s a slight to enhanced risk for severe weather today depending on where you are at in our listening area.

The main potential severe storm event will begin over southeast Missouri and southern Illinois late this afternoon and then spread/develop eastward through the night.

Damaging winds and tornadoes will be the primary concerns, large hail is also possible. According to forecasters they forecast a 10 percent chance of an EF-2 or larger tornado.
