BENTON (WMIX) – Two people have been ordered to be detained in jail following the formal filing of meth trafficking charges Monday in Franklin County Court.
According to court records, 32-year-old Ethan Atchison, of Sesser, and 28-year-old Victoria Atchison, of Herrin, were each formally charged Monday with Class X felonies for trafficking of methamphetamine and delivery of between 15 and 100 grams of meth, along with Class 1 felony possession of between 15 and 100 grams of meth.
Illinois State Police reports the pair was arrested in the early morning hours of Friday, Nov. 10, when a trooper stopped a vehicle being driven by Ethan Atchison for speeding in Franklin County.
A subsequent search of the vehicle reportedly revealed a large amount of methamphetamine.
Ethan and Victoria were placed under arrest and transported to the Franklin County Jail where they remain.
Preliminary hearings are scheduled for Dec. 6 in both cases.
