METROPOLIS – The Metropolis Police Report released the following information on Monday, Sept. 18, 2023.
September 12, 2023
A Metropolis officer stopped a green Honda Civic for obscured registration. A computer check on the driver, Alexis H. Rick, 31, of Metropolis revealed that her driver’s license was suspended. Rick was charged and released on a notice to appear.
Metropolis Police were called to a domestic disturbance at a residence on Oak Drive. Upon arrival, officers spoke with the victim and observed that she had marks on her neck and her shirt was torn at the neckline. The victim advised that this was done by Christian L. Dumas, 21, of Metropolis when he grabbed her, while she was holding her child. Dumas was arrested and charged with Domestic Battery. Dumas was lodged in the Massac County Detention Center.
Metropolis Police responded to an apartment on Lois Lane for a disturbance call. The investigation revealed that the victim had been punched in the eye and had her head struck against a wall. Robert H. Bowling, 44, of Metropolis was arrested for Domestic Battery and lodged in the Massac County Detention Center.
September 13, 2023
Metropolis Police received a call from a female victim who advised that while she was jogging in Ft. Massac State Park, a male exposed his penis to her. She advised he was in a silver Chrysler 300 which left the park and went to the Sonic Drive In and parked. Officers located the vehicle and detained the driver until the victim could identify him. Upon arrival, she confirmed that we had the correct offender. Ronnie C. Brown, 37, Fulton, KY was charged with public indecency. He was released on bond.
Metropolis officers were called to a domestic disturbance at a residence in the 1000 block of East 6th Street. Officers learned that Madyson L. Oliver, 25, attacked her grandmother. The victim had obvious signs of injury. Oliver was arrested for Domestic Battery and lodged in the Massac County Detention Center.
While on patrol, a Metropolis officer observed a white Hyundai on US 45 at 12th Street. The officer recognized the driver, Anna L. Clark, 43, of Metropolis from previous traffic stops. She tried to hide her face. The officer was aware that Clark had a suspended drivers license. A traffic stop was conducted and a compute confirmed that Clark still had a suspended drivers license. Clark was charged with the suspended license as well as operation of a motor vehicle without insurance. Clark was lodged in the Massac County Detention Center.
September 16, 2023
Metropolis Police were called to the Spence Apartments for a domestic disturbance. Upon arrival, a Metropolis sergeant could hear a male yelling and threatening a female. Upon gaining entrance to the apartment, the victim advised that she was choked and struck multiple times. Officers could see marks on the victim’s neck. Officers learned that the offender, Christopher E. Gibbs, 32, of Metropolis had been previously trespassed from the property. Gibbs was arrested and charged with Domestic Battery and Criminal Trespass to Residence. Gibbs was lodged in the Massac County Detention enter.
Metropolis Police were called to a residence in the Spence Apartments. The victim stated that her Ring doorbell was stolen. The thief who is an ex-boyfriend had texted to her and informed her that he stole it. Officers began looking for the offender, Izell Jones, 45, of Cairo. Jones was located and charged with Theft (still had the item in his pocket) and Criminal Trespass to Property. Jones was lodged in the Massac County Detention Center.
September 17, 2023
Metropolis officers were called to a disturbance at a residence in the 1500 block of Catherine Street. Upon arrival, officers observed that the victim was bleeding and had marks on his chest and chin. Investigation revealed that he was struck by Kenneth R. Carnes, 54, of Metropolis. Carnes was arrested and charged with Domestic Battery. Carnes was lodged in the Massac County Detention Center.
