SESSER – The superintendent of the Sesser-Valier School District says the school district received word from the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office shortly after 9 Tuesday morning that it had received information regarding an alleged, non-specific threat to schools in Franklin County.

Jason Henry says the sheriff’s office received information from a local fire department, and the information reportedly originated in Williamson County.

Both school and law enforcement officials said they did not believe the threat was credible, so school remained in session Tuesday.

Henry says other schools in Franklin County were also notified about the non-specific threat to schools today.
