ELDORADO – Ferrell Hospital will reopen today, following several weeks of closure due to extensive flood damage. The hospital will resume services, including the Emergency Department. Ferrell Hospital Family Practice, located within the hospital, is expected to reopen later this month.

“We are thrilled to once again open our doors and serve our community,” Ferrell CEO Tony Keene said. “The past few weeks have been challenging, but thanks to the incredible efforts of our staff, restoration teams and the support of our community, we’re coming back stronger than ever.”

The hospital has undergone a thorough inspection and received approval from the Illinois Department of Public Health, ensuring that all facilities meet or exceed safety and operational standards.

Highlights about the reopening:

  • All hospital services, including the Emergency Department, will be fully operational today.
  • Surgeries will resume immediately.
  • The hospital will begin rescheduling appointments and taking new bookings starting today.
  • The family medicine clinic inside the hospital will reopen later this month (exact date to be announced).
