SOUTHERN ILLINOIS – Some severe weather rolled through parts of our area Thursday afternoon.
According to storm reports from the National Weather Service in Paducah, in Enfield, some thunderstorm wind damage caused the top of an elevator grain bin to peel back. A camper awning was damaged. A large tree was blown down onto a house. There was minor tree damage throughout town.
There was a report of river/creek overflowing and cropland, yard, and basement flooding in Cisne.
In Springerton, thunderstorm wind damage caused a row of 10 power lines to snap. Several buildings in northeast Hamilton County lost roofs. Several locations had trees fall over roads.
In Fairfield, streets flooded. Creeks and ditches overflowed with water.
Tree limbs were reported down due to thunderstorm winds in Burnt Prairie.
Large tree limbs were down due to thunderstorm winds in Mill Shoals.
Thunderstorm wind damage knocked down power lines and a power pole in Rinard.
And power was out likely due to the storm in Carmi according to city officials.
