MARION – Williamson County Sheriff’s deputies recently arrested a man involved in the theft and criminal damage of more than $100,000 of communication wire.

Jakob D. Caldwell was cited for Theft, Criminal Damage to Property, Possession of Stolen Property and Theft of Government Property. He was taken to and lodged in the Williamson County Jail.

Caldwell was apprehended around 2:30 Tuesday afternoon. He was found in possession of a vehicle loaded with stolen wire that he had just finished cutting up as investigators approached him in a wooded area in northwest Marion.

This arrest follows the unrelated Oct. 4 case resulting in the arrest of two suspects who were apprehended in possession of a truck load of communications wire who were tracked by deputies and caught in the act of retrieving wire they had cut from the tops of telephone poles.
