CAVE-IN-ROCK – The Cave-in-Rock Ferry will resume weekend service starting this weekend.

According to the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet, Crittenden County Judge-Executive Perry A. Newcom announced Tuesday the Ohio River Ferry Authority and operators of the Cave-in-Rock Ferry have enacted a temporary schedule that will allow the ferry to resume operations seven days a week beginning this weekend.

Starting Saturday, the ferry will begin operating with reduced weekend hours due to staffing concerns. Saturday and Sunday hours will be from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m., while on weekdays the ferry will continue to run from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m.

This schedule will remain in place while the ferry operator seeks to fill job vacancies.

The Cave-in-Rock Ferry connects KY 91 with Illinois Route 1 across the Ohio River between Crittenden County, KY, and Hardin County, IL.
