ANNA – The Illinois Veterans’ Home at Anna invites veteran service providers, community organizations, schools, and individuals to a volunteer fair to learn more about volunteer opportunities and enjoy light refreshments. Volunteers are critical in providing important services and opportunities to veterans in the Home’s care.

It will be held on Wednesday, Oct. 9, from 10 a.m. to noon, at the Anna Veterans’ Home on North Main Street.

Since COVID-19, Illinois Veterans’ Homes across the state have lost many volunteers. Across the nation, between 2019-2021, volunteers have dropped seven percent, from 30 to 23 percent. The Homes, because of COVID-19 and mandated restrictions, experienced an even greater decline in volunteerism.
