METROPOLIS – A Metropolis woman and a juvenile were recently charged with Retail Theft after Metropolis Police were called to Walgreens for a theft in progress.

Metropolis Police say on Monday, Aug. 26, police arrived at the scene and met with a store employee who said two females pushing a child in a baby stroller had taken items and hid them in the stroller. Once they left the store, they were confronted by a Metropolis Police sergeant and an off-duty ISP Master Sergeant. The items totaling almost $192 were hidden in the stroller and recovered. 

A 13-year-old juvenile and 27-year-old Samantha Jackson, of Metropolis, were charged with Retail Theft. They were released on a notice to appear.
