BENTON – Franklin County Sheriff Kyle Bacon says with some Franklin County schools already in session and others starting in the next few days, you need to remember to slow down in school zones, use extra caution while driving, and do not pass stopped school busses while students are loading or unloading.

The sheriff says please be extremely cautious on your morning and afternoon commutes as there will be an increase in young drivers, bicycle traffic, and students walking. There will be an increased presence of patrol deputies in school zones and School Resource deputies will be working within our schools.

Let’s work together to ensure a safe and secure school year for our children.
