HARRISBURG – Harrisburg CUSD #3 is partnering with with P3 Group, Inc. for a solar development project within the district.
The partnership was made official at a groundbreaking ceremony held Tuesday at the Bulldog Early Learning Academy in Harrisburg. The project is slated to generate 662,152/kWh of electricity annually.
Harrisburg CUSD #3 has an enrollment of nearly 1800 students. P3 Group, Inc. is a leading provider of public-private partnership development services.
The project will generate 662,152 kWh each year through a combination of rooftop and ground mount solar panels. The energy rate starts at 11.4 cents/kWh thereby delivering an estimated lifetime savings of over $2 million.
The total construction cost, funded by solar tax credits, is $870,000 which includes the addition of a new roof coating at Harrisburg Middle School.
The P3 Group, Inc. teamed with Dallas based 413 Solutions to provide design and program management for this project and Chicago based Ehbed Energy to provide solar tax credits to fund the transaction. Harrisburg based general contractor HE Mitchell Construction will install the solar panels.

Additionally, the cost savings in repairing the HMS roof is substantial.”
