WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Rep. Mike Bost (R-IL) chaired a hearing of the House Committee on Veterans’ Affairs Tuesday to review the Department of Veterans’ Affairs (VA) spending of remaining emergency COVID funding.

“At a time when we are $31 trillion in debt, it is infuriating to hear Biden administration officials continue to defend wasteful spending at the VA,” said Bost. “On top of their regular budget, which fully meets the needs of our veterans, the VA is now taking unspent COVID funding and doling it out for garage maintenance, pest removal, and libraries. The pandemic is long over. It’s time for bureaucrats to stop looking for new excuses to spend money and give it back to the taxpayers.”
