SPRINGFIELD – State public health officials Monday reported 4,776 new COVID-19 cases, including 53 additional deaths in Illinois.
This brings the total number of cases in Illinois to 1,033,526 cases, including 17,627 deaths.
The preliminary seven-day statewide positivity for cases as a percent of total test from Jan. 4 through the 10 is 7.6 percent. The preliminary seven-day statewide test positivity from Jan. 4 through the 10 is 8.9 percent.
The Jefferson County Health Department Monday reported a total of 16 new cases Saturday, 23 new cases plus 52 state correctional facility inmates Sunday and 12 cases Monday. Two deaths were also reported during this time period.
The Perry County Health Department reported a total of 35 new cases over the last 48 hours with 23 of these positive cases located at a correctional facility in Perry County. The correctional facility is following IDPH guidelines and fully cooperating with the Perry County Health Department.
The Southern Seven Health Department reported 139 new cases stretching from Saturday to Monday.
