Over 4,000 New Confirmed COVID-19 Cases Reported in Illinois Thursday

SPRINGFIELD – The Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) Thursday reported 4,015 new confirmed cases of coronavirus disease (COVID-19) in Illinois, including 53 additional confirmed deaths. 

Currently, IDPH is reporting a total of 331,620 cases, including 9,127 deaths, in Illinois.

The preliminary seven-day statewide positivity for cases as a percent of total test from Oct. 9–15 is 4.9 percent. 

Franklin County reported 60 new positive cases of COVID-19 Thursday. Jefferson County reported 25 cases. Williamson County reported 24 cases. Jackson County reported 21 cases and one death from the virus Thursday.

White County reported 16 cases. Union County reported 15 cases. Johnson County reported 12 cases. Saline County reported five cases. Alexander, Gallatin, Hamilton, Massac and Pulaski counties each reported two cases Thursday.
