PADUCAH – The National Weather Service in Paducah has issued a Winter Storm Watch for our area starting Friday evening and continuing through Saturday morning.
A storm system will bring a period of wintry precipitation starting late Friday afternoon in southeast Missouri and Friday evening in southern Illinois. In southern Illinois, the wintry precipitation will run generally along and north of line from Anna to Goreville to Harrisburg and Shawneetown.
While mixed precipitation is possible at the onset, a transition to mainly snow is expected through most of Friday night, when the heaviest snow accumulations are forecast. A transition to mainly rain from south to north is forecast Saturday morning as temperatures warm above freezing.
Total snow accumulations of 3 to 6 inches possible. You can plan on slippery road conditions.
