Voters Choose New Sheriffs, Other Officeholders in Contested Franklin, Hamilton County Races Tuesday

BENTON/MCLEANSBORO – There will be some new faces in Franklin and Hamilton County governments in the new year.

Voters in Franklin County Tuesday elected Republican David Bartoni to be sheriff beating incumbent Democrat Don Jones.

Republican Steve “Verse” Vercellino was elected Franklin County Treasurer beating incumbent Democrat Keith Jones.

Republican J. Larry Miller and Democrat Ray Minor were elected to the Franklin County Board District 2 while incumbent Republican Jack C. Warren and Republican Kevin Weston were elected in District 3.

There will be a new sheriff in Hamilton County as Republican Tracy Lakin defeated incumbent Democrat Robert Crow in Tuesday’s election.

Republican Trent Butler lost his bid to unseat incumbent Democrat Mary Anne Hopfinger for County Clerk and Recorder.
