Arkansas Man Wanted for Parole Violation Arrested on Unrelated Charges in Jackson County

MURPHYSBORO – An Arkansas man was taken to the Jackson County Jail Friday afternoon after Jackson County Sheriff’s deputies responded to the Campbell Hill area around 1:30 after getting a report about an unidentified white man wearing black pants, a black shirt and carrying a black bag in the area who allegedly was involved in several thefts and/or burglaries.

Officials say 23-year-old Terry L. Warbritton was found on Route 4 west of Campbell Hill and ran into the woods to evade deputies. Warbritton was taken into custody without incident just after 3 p.m.

Warbritton had an active warrant from Arkansas for a parole violation. He has two local charges of possession of stolen property and obstructing/resisting arrest.

Officials say they continue to investigate. Additional charges are possible.

The TriCo School District took necessary security measures as it is located near where the incident took place Friday afternoon. Nothing was directed or happened at the school.
