Benton to Hold Town Hall Meeting on Electric Aggregation Program

BENTON – A town hall meeting regarding Benton’s electric municipal aggregation program will be held Monday night at 5 at City Hall.

Reg Ankrom with SIMEC LLC, an energy consultant company widely used in North America, will be able answer your questions about the aggregation program.

Letters were recently sent to city residents explaining that Homefield Energy was selection through a thorough bid process to be the new supplier for contract term June 2017 through June 2020. That’s according to the Benton Evening News.

Homefield Energy is an independent seller of power and energy. It has been certified by the Illinois Commerce Commission as an alternative retail electric supplier.

Residents can choose to “opt out” of the program if they wish to do so.

If you are unable to attend the meeting, it will be streamed on the city’s Facebook page using Facebook Live and you will be able to participate and ask questions.
